More pictures, and a cartoon.

| | Comments (0)

I added some more pictures. There are pictures of the Schneider family visiting us in April and some random pet pics. If you look at the animal pics, you'll find the poorly photographed cat image I am using for the background to the left.

Anyway, I only have a few folders left before I am all caught up on putting pictures online. I have a baby shower folder, and ones for the wedding rehearsal dinner and the baby's ultrasound. They will be coming soon, but probably not this week. We have a wedding to go to and other stuff to do, so we'll be a little busy.

Also, while I was tinkering today, I thought I would put up the cartoon that inspired the unique name of this site. It's posted without permission, so I may eventually have to take it down. But it's always been one of my favorite cartoons, and a metaphor for my life. Check it out.

More pictures!

I just posted some old pics from my 31st birthday dinner this year and some pics of Alecia's ever-growing belly. Alecia isn't happy that I didn't chop off her head in the belly pics (she was going through some serious morning sickness in the early ones), but I told her what I tell everyone that asks me to remove a pic: MY SITE, MY PICS, MY CHOICE. I remove nothing! Bwah hahahaha!

By the way, I'm an equal opportunity offender. I'll put up embarassing pics of myself if I have any. Of course, I'm so pretty that there aren't any...

To satisfy my never-satisfied sister, I added the ability to post comments to the site. It's pretty easy, just click on the "enter comments" text below the update you want to comment on. If there are comments already posted, it may say "2 comments" or something. Just click on the text to read what's there and add your own. If you want the comments to disappear again, click on "hide comments." I told you it was easy.

Sorry that you can't post comments on the pics pages, but them's the breaks. I'm not a miracle worker. :)

All of the wedding pics are up!

I finally completed putting up the wedding pictures. There's six pages worth! Some of them didn't turn out so good since they were taken with the disposable cameras.

As I finished these today, I did some reorganizing of the site. So the pics on pages one and two may not be the same as they were the other day. Also, the pics aren't in any particular order. In fact, some of the best ones are at the very end, so be sure to check out all of the pages!

I'll have pictures of pregnant Alecia, our Savannah trip, and her first baby shower soon!

Just a sample.

I have nothing to say, I just wanted to show Alecia an example of how we can put links and graphics on this page using the new format.

New pics up...but they'll load slow.

In an effort to live up to my promise of posting new content this week, I put up another page of wedding pics. Unfortunately, in my haste, I saved all of the edited pics in the wrong format. What does this mean? It means that they will load SLOW. For you folks still using dialup, this will be a major pain in the tush. Sorry! I'll fix it when I have time!

Making progress...

To check out what the format of the new site will be, click on the picture link to the left. That's how all of our pages will look going forward.

Oh, and I keep changing the image to the left from one of Sindri to one of Astrid, so if you see a dog instead of a cat, don't freak out.

Big changes coming...

Okay, I have been lazy about putting new pictures online, I admit it. I plan to change that this week. I will be putting up a mess of wedding pics, along with some pics from the weekend in Savannah and some other oddities. Along with the new pics, I will be changing the entire style of the site. I have demonstrated my weakness as a designer and my laziness as a coder, so I will be going with a templated site that uses the Blogger toolset.

I know that sounds like gibberish to most of you. What it means is that I will be putting up more frequent posts and pictures, which is a good thing.

By the way, that's our cat, Astrid, to the left of this text. I never thought the day would come when I would have a website with a picture of my CAT on it! Someone shoot me, please. (In my defense, I couldn't find any other pictures that looked as good in that spot and allowed for the white text to be read easily. I'll change the image as soon as I can find a better one.) You have to admit, though, it's not a bad pic, considering it was an accident (forgot to turn on the flash).

Savannah

| | Comments (0)

We had an awesome time in Savannah last weekend. As you can see below, we got to spend some time on Tybee Island at the beach, as well as see the sights around Historic Savannah. We stayed at the Foley House Inn, considered one of the "most romantic inns in Savannah." We were walking outside the hotel when a tour group came by and were told this. They all got a kick out of the fact that I was very obviously pregnant. Must have been a romantic inn indeed!

Hopefully, we'll have pictures of our weekend up soon. (Yeah, sure. We're still working on the wedding pics...) :)

What we saw last weekend...

When we visited the beach at Tybee Island in Savannah last weekend, we were surprised to see a couple of black or dark grey fins break the water about thirty feet from us. Thinking that they were dolphins, I began to wade over to them. They stayed out of arm's reach, and swam away before I could get close enough to touch them. Later, I wondered if they were even dolphins. I mean, the fins were dark! Dolphins on TV are so light-colored! But a friend assured me they weren't sharks, and even found the following pic to prove that dolphins could have dark fins... See the pic.

Test from Alecia too.

This is all new to me, so let's see if it works...

Test number one.

Okay, I've set up the blog, but I have no clue if I've done it correctly. I guess that means it's time for a test message! Testing...1...2...3...
