July 2006 Archives
One of us usually lies down with Maddie at night when she goes to bed. Sometimes, she'll fall asleep after a few minutes. Usually, we have to wait until she gets done talking, and then as soon as you think she's asleep, she'll say more. The one-way conversation can last for hours.
The other night was one of those nights when Maddie just wouldn't calm down.
"Mommy, we go play with Grace tomorrow, okay?"
Okay. We'll call her tomorrow.
{a few minutes go by}
"Nice outfit, Mommy!"
Thanks, Mad, now shhhhhhh.
{a few more minutes}
"Mom, I think we have a problem here."
What's wrong, Maddie?
"This room is messy! Mommy, I really need clean my room!"
Maybe tomorrow, sweetie. It's bedtime.
{not even 30 seconds later}
"Mommy, Grace is my best friend and you my best friend too!"
I love you, Maddie.
I told Maddie she couldn't have a gummi bear until she went on the potty. We're using them as a reward while we potty train.
She thought it over for a minute and then asked me, "Mommy, do YOU want a gummi bear? They're really good. You can get two, and then you can have one and you can give one to me too!"
Alecia's been pretty good about updating our Flickr account with new pictures (see the links to the left), but I've been sitting on some video that should've been posted a while ago. I won't put it all in this page--it would make the site load too slow--but you can follow the links below to watch each clip. The first few are from our trip to the Braves game several weeks ago, the last two are some clips my mother asked me to put up for her.
> Maddie and Josie sing along with "Take Me Out to the Ballgame."
> We run the bases as a family.
> The kids bust a move at "Tooner Field."
> Running the bases at "Tooner Field." (We love bases.)
